The love for ray ban has been out and loud from Hollywood to Bollywood and from the cricket stadium to the football ground.
From Chulbul pandey aka Salman Khan in Dabang to Will Smith in Men in Black have all enticed us with their Rayban looks.
Wonder what is this craze and love for RayBan glasses?
The history of Rayban
The history of Rayban goes back to the period of world war II.
The aviators were invented by Bausch & Lomb and they were branded as Raybans later. They were originally created to protect the eyes of pilots from engine oils.
The first advertisements for RayBan aviators stated they would provide “real scientific glare protection” and were sold as sporting equipment. Later stars like Michael Jackson and Bob Dylan started wearing them in colored frames and it gained popularity among the pop culture.
The striking features setting RayBan apart from other brands are its old aged vintage-style classic design that is lightweight and also they carry crown glass instead of PC (Polycarbonate) material mostly used nowadays in Sunglasses.
You can find a variety of lenses with gradation or mirrored coatings or even polarized sunglasses.
How to check if your pair of RayBans are original?
To check the authenticity of RayBan, check the inside of the left temple. It should feature the model number and size details. Apart from that, it should have ‘RB’ etched on the sunglasses just below the hinge. If the font comes off they are definitely not authentic RayBan sunglasses.
Though RayBan aviators have seen great heyday, they also come in other models such as:
- Wayfarer
- Erika
- Round
- New wayfarer
- Justin
